“I built Aroma Studios on a simple belief: Egypt is one of the greatest places on earth to make film and television — five thousand years of locations within thirty minutes of Cairo, and crews whose craft matches any market I’ve worked in. Today we operate between Cairo, Dubai and Riyadh, producing our own slate and putting that same machine — permits, locations, crews, stages, logistics — at the service of international productions. When a producer lands in Egypt with us, they get one accountable partner who treats their picture like our own. That’s the standard, on every shoot.”
Tamer Mortada — Founder, Aroma Studios
About the founder
Tamer Mortada — founder of Aroma Studios and one of the region's most prominent producers — is a communication engineer by education, and it shows in everything he builds: a career at the meeting point of art, technology and science, where an engineer's precision serves a filmmaker's instinct. That combination has defined Aroma since day one.

He founded Aroma in 2001 as a post-production house — visual effects, editorial, color grading and audiovisual identity design for cinema, television and thousands of commercials — work that earned more than 30 international awards and placed the company behind technical credits such as The International Player (2009) and Winter of Discontent, which screened at the Venice Film Festival.
In 2014 he founded Aroma Studios and crossed from services into full production. The Hunter (2014, Youssef El Sherif) opened a run of hit drama — Black Envelope and Devil's Game (2015), The Exit (2016), Forced Choice (2017), Fait Accompli (2018) — while the house kept delivering VFX and editorial for landmarks like Cain and The Secret Men's Club (2019).
By 2021 he stood among the region's leading producers, expanding Aroma with offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. The successes followed: the widely watched Ela Ana anthology, Return to Love (2022, Khaled El Nabawy), The Original (2023, Riham Abdel Ghafour), A Husband's Diary, The Morgue and With Evidence (2023, Hanan Motawie), The M Empire (2024, Khaled El Nabawy) and the epic A Thousand and One Nights: Gawdar (2024, Yasser Galal) — followed in 2025–2026 by White Page, Cocoon, The Art of War, The Second Half and Roses & Jasmines.
Then the step that took the journey global: through Aroma Studios, Tamer Mortada serves as the Egyptian executive producer of TNT's High Value Target: The Hunt for Saddam — shot largely on Egyptian soil, and proof that Egyptian talent can carry an international production at the highest professional standard.

The post-production legacy
Before building its production catalog, Aroma Studios was Egypt's leading post-production and VFX house — the teams behind the visual effects and color of landmark titles including The Blue Elephant, Kira & El Gin, Diamond Dust, Yomeddine (Cannes competition), Sheikh Jackson (Egypt's Oscar submission), Hepta and Grand Hotel. That division now operates as AO3 Studios — the same award-winning artists behind our editorial, color, VFX and sound today.
